I am a final-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta, under the supervision of Prof. Ioanis Nikolaidis, and a former Alberta Innovates Graduate Fellow. I was selected as one of the 100 Young Computer Science Researchers worldwide to attend the 9th Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2022. I worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, under Prof. Ketan Rajawat. I received the Master of Science (by Research) degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, under the supervision of Prof. Sudip Misra and Prof. Narendra Singh Raghuwanshi in 2019. Also, I worked as a JRF on the project “Development of a Sensor-based Networking System for Improved Water Management of Irrigated Crops,” funded by the MHRD, Government of India.
I received a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly West Bengal University of Technology), India, in 2012. Before joining MS, I was a product development and support engineer on embedded systems and wireless sensor networking at Pervcom Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, India. After that, I joined the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, India, as a Project Assistant.
My current Ph.D. research focuses on compression in Delay Tolerant Networks under limited storage—developing practical, low-complexity piecewise linear approximation schemes for challenged wireless environments such as IoT and WSN deployments. I am a Graduate student member of IEEE and ACM and an active reviewer for IEEE IoTJ, IEEE TIM, and several other journals and conferences.
